Ribbon Rose - Step by step

Posted by Izzy on 3rd Dec 2025

Hi everyone!

Here is the much requested Ribbon Rose step by step guide! I love this craft, it looks stunning and although it took me quite a while to make, it was surprisingly easy :) Everything you need is on our site (apart from the hot glue gun unfortunately) and I will link the products so you can access them easily!

This flower is perfect for the Christmas tree, but... I was also thinking it could be a great Valentines gift! Forever flowers! How romantic :) Maybe I'll have to create a colourful bouquette in February!

Anyway... Lets get started!

So, you will need:

I have broken the instructions down into six, however there are quite a lot of steps within each catagorised step. If you have already made a flower but are coming back for a refresher to make another, please skip to the bottom where I have briefly outlined the steps to jog your memory!

And there we have it! I really hope you found my tutorial easy to follow and your flower came out well :) I would love to see everyones flowers, either send me a picture or post it in our Facebook Group, I'm sure everyone would love to see eachothers!

Thanks for reading & happy crafting

Brief instructions to refresh your memory!

Step one:

Essentially you need to cut your organza and satin ribbon into the same length (8.5cm) pieces, you want at least 14 of each. Then you will hot glue the organza on top of the satin ribbon. Do this for all your pairs.

Step two:

This is the hard part... making the actual petals. Put a dot of glue on the upper corner and fold over to the centre at the bottom, creating an 'overlapped triagle'. Do this on both sides and then put another dot on each corner and fold that into the original fold. (I would definately refer back to the pictures for this step as it's hard to explain and I dont think I'm doing it very well without any graphics!)

Step three:

Use hot glue to attach all your petals together, overlapping the fold on the left of one petal and the fold of the right on the first petal. Once they are all glued together, turn them over.

Step four:

Put glue onto the first petal in an 'L' shape, attach your BBQ skewer. Then add a line of hot glue along the bottom of your petals and keep rolling til the end.

Step five:

Cut out 8 small circles from the organza ribbon and burn the edges to create petals. D 6 of the same ussing the large organza roll.

Step six:

Face your flower down on the table and glue the small petals round the edge. Then glue the big petals, but to the centre so they meet at the stick. Add some extra glue around the stick and you're done!
