Please Note:
Hole Cutting Dies are deemed as a consumable item. Consumable items are defined as goods that are used in a way that depletes them over time, and so must be replaced in order to be useful again. The level of wear and need for a replacement is contingent on frequency of use, materials being used, the force of application and general maintenance.
In order to prevent unnecessary deterioration of your die/faster wear, we recommend using the same technique with every application; the die should be gently ‘offered’ to the material and finished with a strong push of pressure, so that the blade is able to cut through. It’s important to refrain from slamming the handle down, as this will blunt your blade much faster, and will not provide a clean cut.
If your material is particularly fine, placing some corrugated card underneath will help you to achieve a clean cut, as it allows the blade to have something to bite into.
It’s important to regularly clean out the chamber of your die, as material can build up within it and cause excess pressure, resulting in the chamber splitting. Therefore rendering the die unusable.
